Today Reggie went to the groomers. He normally gets me up around 5:30 am, goes out front to potty, then eats, and goes back to bed. On grooming days, I take him for a shorter walk as soon as I get dressed. Next, we go to the garden to water the plants and check on the ripeness of the tomatoes, peaches, and cantaloupe. He gets upset if I don’t follow the normal order of things. He will bark at me and head to the patio door wanting me to go outside. Spirit nudging him to make sure he gets me outside among the trees and flowers in the fresh morning air.
When I put him in the car before I eat breakfast, he knows something different is up. He likes riding with his head out the window smiling at people to start their day with joy or greeting other dogs by barking as his tail wags. It is almost like he is saying “hi, look at me, I get to go riding.”
Because he was in a cage for eight hours waiting to be groomed in another city, and after being in a cage at an Animal Shelter, Spirit guided me to make the first grooming appointment of the day. I ask the groomers to call me as soon as he is done so I can pick him up. Cutting down on his trauma is important for his health and my piece of mind. Spirit assisting in mending and reducing fear and anxiety of him being abandoned again.
We are so closely bonded that I can feel his anxiety, pain, or discomfort. Spirit guides me to do whatever is necessary to reduce or eliminate it as quickly as possible. There are times when I call in others to assist with his healing as I want to keep him in a healthy, happy, and fully functioning place all of the time. Spirit revealing to me that he is a sensitive being with emotional issues that need special care.
He gets anxious when we pull into the parking lot in front of the groomers. He starts shaking and wants to pull away before we get to the door. Once he is inside, he settles down as they make over him and take such good care of him. Spirit guided me to this groomer as I was driving along one day. The groomer’s name was magnified to me and I knew that was where I was to take him, so called when I got home and made an appointment. This is the husband and wife’s business and they love what they do, so Reggie is in a loving place when he is groomed. Spirit protecting both of us.
Back home, I eat breakfast, do the dishes, and the phone rings just as I am sitting down at the computer. He is ready to be picked up, so I get him. He is so happy to see me and he is looks adorable and smells so good, all clean and trimmed up. He is so proud of himself and happy to be home that he runs in circles a few times.
He gets the breakfast treat I saved for him, goes outside for a little bit, and then snuggles down in the recliner while I work in the office. A big morning for him; my handsome little boy is worn out. My heart is joyful as I watch his little body relax and join Spirit in dream time. How very blessed we both are. Nancy and Reggie♥
