Birthday Gifts – Friends

There is a friend who is close to my heart as we have journeyed beside each other for the last fourteen years, through fun spiritual work and play, lunches and dinners, through the deaths of both of our husbands, and through my moves.  We celebrate each other’s birthdays together when we can.  We created a tradition of play with weekly Face Time and other phone calls, emails, texts, and as well as cards for different occasions.  We created a celebration of life in all its forms, ages and stages, by encouraging and supporting each other along the way to find the positive in all, the lesson to be learned, the joy to be shared and to be open to Spirit.  This visit she shared one of her new affirmations:  At every stage of life I am timeless, ageless, and ever evolving.

The spiritual connection was made before we came into this life and we acknowledge it with laughter saying we agreed to meet at this time, date, and place.  It is more than a connection; it is a joining of two souls for the greater good of all.  A vortex is automatically created that opens to the high realms.  Together the energy, vibration, and frequency of each of us raises to a higher level and remains there.  We remark to each other that we are being off-loaded of that which no longer serves us and uploaded with the new higher energy, vibration, and frequency for our next spiritual phase.

This birthday was special as she flew from Oregon to spend several days with me just to be together, doing whatever spiritual work we each had to do, then going shopping, eating at home and at restaurants, going to the movie to see A Star is Born, watching Longmire on Netflix, and opening ourselves to be changed by Spirit.  She took me to a delicious lunch where we shared our dreams about relationships and family.  Simple, beautiful times with my friend, relaxing in the knowledge that we don’t need words as our hearts know of the love flowing between us and All That Is.  Gentle, quiet acceptance that we are each Spirit expressing as humans.

My friend of 30 years in Redding, CA sent me a birthday gift before my birthday.  It came without a card, but I knew intuitively it was from her.  She sent me a bird feeder with a copper top and rail.  It hangs outside my patio door so I can watch the birds enjoy the food.  Her card came the next day and we talked with each other.  I stop to see her every time I go through Redding on my way to Mount Shasta.  It is a tradition we both enjoy, seeing each other in person, and catching up on what has been happening in our lives and with our little dogs.  My deceased husband comes to me as a Blue Bird and the first bird on the feeder was this Blue Bird.  Gifts from a dear friend and gifts from Spirit.  Such love flowing through the years, through moves, life events, and a spiritual connection.  Spirit keeping our hearts and souls connected.

A dear Circle friend invited me to lunch after everything settles down as we share our lives at a deeper level which brings both of us great joy and insight.  At Halloween, I was sharing with her that I kept moving the M&M Chocolate Peanut bags of candy to the bottom of the basket, so I would have some if the children didn’t take all the treats as they are my favorites.  The children took all of the treats, so there were none left.  On my birthday afternoon, she brings her love over with a warm hug, a lovely card, and a beautiful gift bag with a big bag of M&M Chocolate Peanuts.  Spirit nudging a friend to bring me a special treat at a special time – how very clever and delightful.

Another friend who lives around the corner surprised me the evening of my birthday bringing me a warm hug, a beautiful sparkling Royal Blue box with a big matching ribbon on it, and lots of love.  Inside the box were Mandarin Oranges from her tree and many crystals tucked around the Mandarins; she said the crystals wanted to come to my house.  We shared news about our lives since the last time we visited.  It was such a joyful ending to my day.  Spirit bringing a friend to nurture my body, mind, and soul with her delicious and fun gifts and her warm heart.

Old and new friends, friends close and those from afar, sent cards, called, texted, posted Facebook messages, and emailed me with wonderful birthday wishes for the day and year.  Messages that reflect to me their love of me and my place in their lives.  Treasures cherished each moment of each day in ways that only friends create, a place of freedom, of understanding, of acceptance, of appreciation and of love for who I am in each of my moments.  Gifts reflected from Spirit through friends that last a lifetime and beyond.  Gifts that nurture my heart and soul, my very Beingness.

Reggie loves my friends as they make over him while they are visiting with me.  He jumps in their laps and gives them kisses (if they let him) and makes his little body available for petting.  He stays by my Oregon friend when she is here basking in the love she gives him.  They have a special bond in that she encouraged me to adopt and keep him when she saw his photo when I was considering rescuing him as she knew we needed each other.  He walks all over a couple of my friends, giving them kisses on their faces, nuzzling their necks, and just seeing how much he can get away with.  Friends loving my little boy and me filling us with gratitude that Spirit has brought us so many beautiful, loving friends.  Nancy and Reggie♥

Spiritual Legacy©

I received an email about a male friend who is having serious health issues.  This man is a Shaman who leads vision quests, has sweat lodges, holds barbeques, and other spiritual events at he and his wife’s home up in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.  He is willing to do spiritual work on anyone who has a need.  All they have to do is let him know.

He is a man who helped take care of his wife’s parents until they died, assisting with the repair of the home, the maintenance of the mountain property, and all that goes with helping someone pass on to The Other Side.  He is a man who built his own home on the property, created a spiritual sanctuary for all, and celebrates life fully, generously, and with zest.

When we were both attending the same church, I had volunteered to host an Ice Cream Social during the summer with homemade ice cream, assorted toppings, and other things.  Neither my husband nor I were in a place to make the ice cream, do the set up, and all the physical things associated with that.  When I called this man to ask for his help, he didn’t hesitate to say yes.  His spirit is so generous not only in giving of his knowledge as a Shaman and as a human being, but as a Spirit Being.

His spiritual legacy is so rich and full as I know of many others he helped while I lived in Oregon, and I can only guess how many he has helped since.  This man answers Spirit’s call every time with whatever is needed.  This is such a beautiful spiritual legacy to have experienced and for all who know him to have witnessed.

His spiritual legacy is love in all its forms, unconditional love from his open heart.  He is such a wonderful example for all of us.  So, whatever journey he goes on as his path takes him to The Other Side, I send him gratitude for his care of my husband, me, and others.  I thank him for his kindness at a time when it was needed.  I send him, his wife, and all those who love him pure Divine Light, Love, Blessings, Peace and Release.

Reggie would have loved him and he would have loved Reggie as he had dogs and adored them.  Nancy and Reggie♥

Friendship©

Every week or so a friend and I go to lunch.  This is a spiritual friend with whom I don’t have to guard my thoughts or words.  We go to different restaurants to have a different experience in ambiance and food.  But we always have the same experience in connecting with each other’s hearts.  Spirit brings such richness and wealth of harmony to our connection we are each deeply touched.

We met at a small church when I first moved here in 2015.  She lived in another place and moved close to where I live in Auburn a couple of months after I bought my home here.  Both of our husbands had died; hers before mine, so we shared aspects of grief.  There was a flow between us right away, as if our souls knew each other in ways that weren’t obvious on the surface.  We would visit after church at the social gathering, then see each other at events, and one day one of us said, “let’s go to lunch.”  This began a relationship that has grown in depth and openness that continues to evolve so effortlessly.  We are each learning and growing through our spiritual and social connection.

Every time we leave each other after lunch, we both feel so joyful and full in our hearts as well as our stomachs.  We celebrate each other’s successes and joys, as well as learn from each other’s opportunities for growth presented through family, friends, and situations in our lives.  Spirit flowing through each word, each expression, and each energy field.

Finding a friendship at this level is rare and precious; one that I treasure as I know she treasures also.  It comes from each of us doing our own spiritual work, being complete in ourselves, and accepting the gifts so freely given by the other.  It comes from a trust in Spirit at all levels and a trust in each other that our friendship elevates all those who are recipients of the wisdom we gain together.  We each are committed to making the world a better place beginning with ourselves.

So, on this and every day, I say thank you to Spirit for leading me on each step of the journey to this place where I am open, willing, and available to share the gift of this friendship from the heart.

Reggie, being an astute judge of character, loves this friend also.  He lets her hold him on her lap and pet him as long as she visits or until she is ready for him to hop off.  He treasures the genuine love she feels for him.  She has three dogs of her own and he is aware of her sensitivity and healing abilities with animals.  He knows she helps him at times, so she is special to him too.  Spirit blessings us all.  Nancy and Reggie♥
