Early this week, my cousin’s daughter, who is married and has two children, donated one of her kidneys to a man. This is the ultimate in “loving my neighbor as myself.” She spent a year preparing for this, educating herself and her family, and getting the body ready for this major transformation. In kidney transplants, in addition to medical urgency and blood type, there is body/organ size, donor/recipient immune system compatibility, distance from donor to hospital, best chance of long-term survival, preserving the organ until transplant, and so many other considerations.
She came through the surgery fine and is doing well today. The first thing the donor recipient asked after he came out of anesthesia was how she was and that he wanted to see her. This transplant may form a life long bond.
This was not just a physical transformation, but a significant spiritual transformation for both of them. Losing and sharing a body part changes their energy fields, vibrations and frequencies. Bringing a female kidney into a male body brings with it the cellular memory, the tissue texture difference, and the Light field surrounding it. Losing a kidney leaves a vacant space that may be filled with Light to bring the area to a higher vibration and frequency, thus alleviating the feeling of loss. Kidneys come in pairs, so adding Light to the kidney left in the body may assist it in accommodating the loss and the greater workload. I asked Spirit to fill all aspects of their Beingness with pure Divine Healing Light, then said a prayer that it assist each of them and all those connected to them or who had any part in this process no matter how small.
I tried to imagine another person being so loving that they would donate a part of themselves so I could go on living. I tried to imagine being the spouse or child of someone donating a part of themselves for someone outside the family, or even in the family. I tried to imagine all of the parts of the medical procedures involved. I tried to imagine donating one of my organs.
Wiktionary defines “kidney” as: “An organ in the body that filters the blood, producing urine.”
The enormity of the gift of donating a part of one’s self is overwhelming as it is pure Divine Unconditional Love. The blessings that are hers are infinite. The recipient receiving the great gift of a kidney to reside in his physical body with this Divine Unconditional Love filtering the blood within him will continuously fill him with infinite blessings. Two lives transformed by a kidney transplant. Many more lives transformed by the ripple of pure Divine Unconditional Love flowing out from these two lives that uplifts all. Nancy and Reggie♥
